Grade I listed Manor House in Dorset

Drummonds/Kirkpatricks 18th Century Palace Oak floor was laid in the Great Hall of this Dorset Manor House, the elegance and beauty of this premium Oak compliments the stonewalls and gothic windows of the original building.

The sub-floor was a mix of solid and joist construction, making fitting floorboards a challenge.  By laying a plywood sub-floor across the entire room and setting the floorboards in place with the joins, we created the impression of original joisting and ensured the authenticity of the Great Hall remained. A mitred border was fitted around the perimeter of the room, creating an elegant break between wood and stone. The floors were finished with several coats of wax and buffed off.
